Hi all

Hope I have found the right place for this.

We are looking to spend a month on the island (covid permitting) mid march to mid april next year. We have never visited the island before and looking generally it looks like at that time of year the south will be the best weather ???? We have also been recommended maspolomas as a good place to be ??? . 

We like a mix of enough to do during the day generally walking and people watching , a few bars and restaurants easily accessible but not in the middle of town. Villages great mountains not sure as the weather. We will have a car so a little further out should be no problem. Any recommendations,comments or tips would be greatly appreciated.

I will need a PCR test done in order to be able to travel.

Would anybody know where I can get one done and how much it costs?

I was told by the Clinica Roca in S. Agustin that they only provide tests if the person has been officially reffered to them by a GP and has symptoms, that's not my case , i just need a test done and the 'hopefully' Negative result provided so that I can show them to the airport authorities on my arrival.

Any idea folks?

I have just joined the forum and glad to be here. I have been visiting GC for over 20 years now and love it! 

I just have a question about cash acceptance on the Island right now. Are shops and restaurants/cafes accepting cash at the moment? I think I have read that shops are only taking card payments, but restaurants will accept cash, but I was wondering if someone might be able to clarify/confirm this for me.

i am moving to gran caneria in Dec. i need to rent single acc for 2 months whilst i buy property. can anyone recommend any where for single oldish n Irishman , im  not too messy promise 58 year old dementia nurse. hope to retire to the island and still work. i have bristish passport and irish european one. all help greatly recieved/

Hello, I’m planning on moving to Gran Canaria next year with my family I’m a fully qualified nail tech and beauty therapist for the last 17yrs I was wondering what the need is out there job wise in this profession I’m currently self employed so this can be a option 

We have been living in the Middle East for 20 years and am planning to visit South Gran Canaria for 2-3 months in january  2020 with a view to seeing if we’d like to live 6 months a year /retire there. Which would be a good area to look for somewhere to rent which has plenty of facilities but not too touristy or is it better to stay tourist area and hire a car and look around.
