We have been living in the Middle East for 20 years and am planning to visit South Gran Canaria for 2-3 months in january 2020 with a view to seeing if we’d like to live 6 months a year /retire there. Which would be a good area to look for somewhere to rent which has plenty of facilities but not too touristy or is it better to stay tourist area and hire a car and look around.

I selling my house in uk and hope to be in gran canceria by mid nov. I was told to rent for a few months. any areas cheap and safe for one person, must be near bus route

Hello, Arguineguín is a nice place to stay. Nice beaches, fishing and ferry harbor, lots of bars and restaurants. We are renting private owned nice apartments with beautiful views - studios for up to 2 persons, and 2 bedroom for up to 4 persons. They are located at the beach „Playa Costa Alegre“ If you like the location, just send me your travel dates and I'll send you photos of the accommodation, Infos and the terms and conditions.

Many thanks for your reply.I ve had 3 flights cancelled from uk now due to stupid uk gov rules the lastest being June 29. I’m determined to get there by middle of July and want to rent 1 bedroom or studio till at least end of October while I hope to buy some where. I’m registered with estate agent but they haven’t been very helpful so far. I have opened bank account out there already. I’m looking cheap and cheerful lol.
