Hello Everyone,

I have just contacted the Spanish Consulate here in the USA and I am planning a move in the next 24 months. I have visited Gran Canaria and loved it; of course! I do speak a little Spanish and plan on continuing that. I am interested in renting an apartment and hope someone can recommend a good agency. I would also like to know safe but economical beach areas I can plan on. I am a 61 year old active woman who will be moving here solo and can use any advice I can get on an area which I can plan on moving to which will be safe, close to the beach and public transport. I really don't want a car there. Thank you very much. - Mare

Hello mare

My wife and i moved here to puerto mogan five years ago    its is a beautiful part of gran canaria and a good few new apartments built which im sure would be reasonably priced for long term accommodation     the amenities here are just what youre looking for    friendly people   safe beaches  bus station   servico salud  (medical centre) super dino supermercado  spar   bars restaurants   some restaurants on beachfront can be a little bit expensive   there is also a social club  where you dine at very reasonable prices or be like me and cook at home   there is a roman catholic church   and some lovely walks

I got my apartment through cardenas estate agency ( immoberabilia cardenas )

There is also a lovely young woman   ( mariska)

She owns all about mogan  snd im quite sure she would give you good sound advice

All the amenities i have mentioned are only 3 to 5 mins walk

If you want any more advise  or photos of area  dont be affraid  to message me

My name is bill

Dear Bill,

Thank you very much!  I am sorry for the slow reply, I have been traveling and I am in Mexico getting dental work. Very grateful for your nice and informative reply. Cheers.- Mare
