New to the forum. Property owners who like to visit this lovely island for 5 months over the winter, we are concerned that it looks like we will only be able to come for 90 days after Brexit, regardless of whether Boris does a trade deal. Residencia isn't appropriate but has anyone any idea about applying for a TIE as a visa to allow a longer stay? Do we do it here, or back in the UK, and how long before we need it?

Thanks Lynn, yes I've done some more research since posting, and I agree that an application for a visa at the Spanish consulate in your home country is what's required at the moment. In the case of the UK, the cost is £516 but I haven't worked out if you can put two people on one application yet. I think that would only be for a year first time, but for longer on any future visas. That's a huge cost increase which won't help Brits coming over here to spend their winter income. Hopefully the Canary government will realise this and agree a cheaper easier 180 days (out of 360) visa process for the UK market. If not I can see a lot of houses and apartments going on the market for sale!
