Hi, I'm writing this having had my email ignored by insurance companies........even the one I have my house insurance with! What I want to know is how does car insurance work here. Some people have told me you insure the car and then anyone with a driving license can drive it. That could well be so but it doesn't make sense because if someone steal my car then the robber is insured to drive my car. I have spent so much money on car hire now that I've had bought a nice car. Not a new one. So can anyone tell me, do I insure a car if I buy one or do I take out car insurance on the car and specify the two people who are insured to drive it?  Do you know if you can pause the insurance on it like if you go away for the Summer months so that you would have 4 months of the year that there would be no need to have it insured? In Ireland as long as you have the car taxed, you can leave it on the road outside your house. Is it the same here as in do you tax your car separately to insurance and this allows you to legally leave it on the road so that the police know its not just been abandoned there and can trace the ownership details? I just want a bit of clarity please if you can help. I have so far asked people who have lived here since birth and they probably don't know because they've never had to do it the way Ireland and the UK do it. Finally if there is a reputable car dealer that you would go back to again to buy your next car, could you tell me their name. If you don't want to put it here can you send me a private messaging letting me know who you would recommend. I need an automatic car. I don't care how old it is as long as its been maintained well. I am an Irish passport holder and can apply for an NIE number to stay longer than 90 days but my husband has a UK passport. We need legal advice please to see if he can also get an NIE number as we are married and on the back of my EU passport. Any advice on an English speaking legal advisor would be appreciated. Or if anyone on  the forum has had experience of this any advice would be appreciated. Thank you 

Hi. I have a friend in Playa who has had a succession of tradesmen let him down. The issues that he has are these;

His Jacuzzi has developed a leak, probably from the pump. Water drips when the pump is switched  so I would guess that this either needs servicing or replacing

He has a penchant for stainless steel fixings and needs a selection of fixings made for the interior of his house. As these are relatively small units no-one that he has spoken to wants to know.

If anyone reading has any useful leads please respond to me in the first instance and I will pass these on to him.

After sitting at a restaurant Somos Costeros on the C. Prudencio Morales. We noticed my wife lost three rings. She had taken them off to apply some sun lotion and coming home to the appartment they are lost. Long shot but maybe someone found them. We have checked the area and will do again tomorrow.
