The Maspalomas International Carnival 2020

Continuing to hold public celebrations and events involving large crowds shows that the people and the civic authorities of Gran Canaria are not serious about containing the COVID-19 virus. Just like on the mainland, this lack of responsibility is very likely to cause a huge public health disaster for Spain because of the highly contagious nature of this novel virus and the long incubation period of several weeks during which an increasing number of people will get infected and will pass on the virus to others without even realizing what is going on. Ignoring all that has been happening in dozens of countries since December 2019 that has caused so much suffering already smacks of criminal negligence in my opinion.
