Hi,
I was wondering what documents are required to obtain an NIE in Las Palmas. And also how do you make an appointment at the local police station?

thank

Firstly if you dont speak fluent spanish   you will need an interpreter    you need a spanish bank account with 5000 euro  you need proof of income going into bank account

If your retired you need S1 forms

You also need proof of tenant occupancy  for 6 month

You also need to register first at town hall

I got a company in Puerto rico to do everything

It was expensive but well worth it  as all your documents have to be translated and typed up in spanish

Hope this helps

Bill

Thanks Bill,

We managed to find someone to help but I’m a bit reluctant to pay him as he isn’t giving the best advice.

Do you have any recommendations in Las Palmas? We plan to live there and avoid the most tourist parts as we have young children and try to learn and pick up the language as quick as possible.

Hey! For NIE number you need copy of passport,  copy of contract for address. We had on 1 month contract. We do everything without Spanish here in san Fernando. Go in police and ask for appointment,  they give you a paper,  you need put your telephone number and number of passport. They call you in 2 or 3 weeks. When you get a Nie number they give you a paper and with this paper you going in a bank to pay 9 euro. 5000 thousands on bank account,  you need for residencia. This you don't needed right now.
