Hola all!

I'm trying to figure out first of all whether GC or Tenerife is better... I appreciate this is going to be subjective.

Basically, I don't drive yet (can learn of course) - I'm an ex-Londoner, so I'd like somewhere:

- Within walking distance of a beach

- Near a good gym + possibly spa

- Beautiful weather

I'm not really a clubber - never really dug nightclub life or culture.

I don't drive - being an ex-Londoner, never saw the need to - until now! ;)

Thought Maspalomas or Las Palmas could be an option.

But anyway I came to Amadores, loved it here (staying at the Gloria Royal), I could probably live here, however, long-term that may not be sustainable...

If anyone has any street smarts, recommendations or insider info, let me know!

Personally I love Las Palmas has everything but weather can be a little overcast sometimes and  you will need some Spanish.   The  South has more brits living there.  You really need to explore by visiting all areas and see what ticks all the boxes for you. Xx

Thanks both for this! Yes Puerto Rico is alright - though I quite like being near the beach and having a stellar view!

Hi nickhatter

I have lived in Puerto de mogan for 4 years now

All you need is on your doorstep here

Spar  or superdino supermarket  bus station

Doctors beach gym  restaurants gift shops lacoste disequal  and lots more   although covid has disrupted  everything at the moment

It is a bit more expensive to live here so really depends what your budget is

If I can help with anything else  just reply on here

I just sent you a private message as to how you can help - yes agreed Mogan is great! I fell in love with the place when I came here last December. Love the shopping centre, the beach, the weather -- SO much better than London, by miles.

I am working on getting my residency pre-Brexit.

Also would be great to have some English-speaking contacts in the local area :) Happy to go for una mojito (sin alcohol) with you amigo!

PS. Do you know of any local volleyball! I love volleyball. I don't see it played it at all in Amadores sadly. I hear it's bigger in Tenerife though.
