Anyone struggling with the 90 day limit on visits post Brexit should sign the government petition seeking better travel arrangements post Brexit - search " government petition 90 days", select the petition about negotiating improved travel arrangements, and follow the on screen instructions. Once over 10000 signatures, the government must respond, and we're nearly 8000 already. Do it now!

Hi, glad you'll sign the petition. As I understand it, ETIAS starts on 1 Jan 2022. Until then you can enter the EU without a visa, but presumably subject to the 90 day limit.

Although ETIAS starts 01.01.2022, I have seen somewhere that it will not be compulsory to use it until the end of that year. But hopefully better arrangements will be sorted out before then.

Hi Ian can the government do anything as we are not in the EU anymore unless they can agree a separate arrangement with Spain.  It would be beneficial for Spain for the economy x . PS  have you posted this in facebook as I am.sure lots would sign.xx

Hi Lynne, I got the petition from the Facebook page "180 days in Spain" I agree that it's more for the Spanish government to do something to allow longer stays, so I have written to the President of the Canaries Angel Torres to point out that it's better for them if we spend our winter income over here. I can't see what anyone can lose by us being over here for 180 days instead of 90, it's just so unfair and frustrating.

No, it was never mentioned then, as far as I can recall. It wasn't mentioned when the withdrawal agreement was signed a year ago! If it had, we might have had more time to change it. I feel very let down.

Hi Guys...it is a terrible situation that you find yourselves in and perhaps it can be resolved quickly...the only problem I foresee is that  it will be Europe that will be making the decision and not individual countries. I do think that over time it may be relaxed though...there are a lot of people throughout Europe that have second homes and the Spend is very valuable...
